The days are ever shorter and I know that fall is fast approaching--I see football on TV. It is time to send off the summer, but I cannot come up with anything suitable enough.
We didn't do anything for a summer vacation this year. We were dead tired of winter by the time February rolled around, so we packed the car and kids, then headed for California for a week. That was it. I'm a bit dissapointed, but that is the way things go.
We'll do summer justice next year though.
The garden is starting to dry up and wilt. I'll be harvesting the winter squash in a week or two. The last of the beans are about ready to be picked. Tomatoes are coming on strong and will be until the first frost strikes them down.
Speaking of summer, and sending it off, I came across some music that would be appropriate. Lake Holiday has two EPs, each called "Send Off the Summer." Couldn't be more appropriate, eh? They are available for free from www.archive.org in the audio section.
Here, I'll make it easy for you: EP 1, EP 2.
Have a good autumn.
